A 3D tablet

You can expect to see the third dimension coming to a tablet soon, Technology Review Hello World reports, such as a forthcoming Qualcomm tablet that uses MasterImage’s open-source 3-D display, which supports iOS, Android, or Windows.

But … it’s still a screen you’re talking about, right? bits of imperishable plastic and glass? How long will it be until we see a hologrammic display that pops up in the air like Princess Leia in Star Wars? Help me, Obi-Won …

I agree with Khannea.
But we could have had 3D ever since we’ve had TV screens, if we don’t mind having two side by side cameras and two screens, or divided screens, and looking at them cross-eyed or having special wedged glasses. Why hasn’t this been an option?

Seriously – HUDS. High Definition glasses. Sure, these tablets are nice, but I’d really really want a ultra high definition stereoscopic headset over a handheld little screen *aaaannnyyyy* time. Especially if I can use it as a game screen. Especially if it responds to head movements to emulate a 3D monitor environment for me.
