Acclaimed science series ‘Cosmos’ to be revamped with Neil deGrasse Tyson

Carl Sagan’s classic television series Cosmos, considered by many to be one of the greatest science series of all-time, is returning to television on Fox, reports Deadline.
Standing in for Sagan as host will be famed astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson. The show’s producers tell Deadline that the new Cosmos will tell “the story of how human beings began to comprehend the laws of nature and find our place in space and time. It will take viewers to other worlds and travel across the universe for a vision of the cosmos on the grandest scale.
“The most profound scientific concepts will be presented with stunning clarity, uniting skepticism and wonder, and weaving rigorous science with the emotional and spiritual into a transcendent experience.”

You know, that’s a pretty narrow-minded way to assess the overall value of an astrophysicist. Frankly, I have very much enjoyed Dr. Tyson’s contributions to the general science knowledge, and don’t care a whit for either the question about the applicability of zeros of the Riemann zeta function to the resonances of black holes, or to your assessment of this story.

yawn… I saw Tyson speak at UTA a few years ago and someone asked if the riemann hypothesis had anything to do with astrophysics… he said no, but it is well known that the riemann zeta function zeroes are involved in certain resonances of black holes… in any case, I was thoroughly unimpressed with his response. http://crowlogic.net/Research/Physical%20interpretation%20for%20Riemann%20zeros%20from%20black%20hole%20physics.pdf
