Materials for Health & Medicine

A conference that the news media has termed the “World Series of Science,” featuring topics ranging from chemistry’s role in establishing the innocence of people wrongly convicted of murder to a spray-on coating to keep America’s favorite fresh fruit (that’s the banana) from ripening so quickly.

That’s the 244th National Meeting & Exposition of the American Chemical Society (ACS), the world’s largest scientific society.

The American Chemical Society is a nonprofit organization chartered by the U.S. Congress. With more than 164,000 members, ACS is the world’s largest scientific society and a global leader in providing access to chemistry-related research through its multiple databases, peer-reviewed journals and scientific conferences. Its main offices are in Washington, D.C., and Columbus, Ohio.
