		<description>Could the genes for producing such light-sensitive algal proteins be introduced into germ or stem cells or embryonic precursers of the nervous system or organ or plant or animal. This might insure all subsequent differentiated cells could later on individually signal what was going on or what cells were connected, etc. Perhaps then individual cells or systems of cells could be activated externally and results observed. If that worked, it might pretty much address those two big challenges mentioned at the end of the article.</description>
