Damien Broderick
A novelist, futurist, and critical theorist, Damien Broderick
is a senior research Fellow at the University of Melbourne in
Australia and holds a multi-disciplinary PhD from Deakin University
in the comparative semiotics of science and literature. Broderick
has been awarded Literature Board Writing Fellowships by the Australian
Council in 1980, 1984, 1990, 1995, and 2004-05, and writing grants
from Deakin University in 1986 and Arts Victoria in 1998. He received
the 1981, 1989 and 1998 Ditmar Awards for best Australian SF Novel, a 1985 Special Ditmar, the 2002 Ditmar for best Australian
Collected Work, and the 1997, 2002 and 2006 Aurealis Awards for
Best Science Fiction Novel. In 2005, he received the Distinguished
Scholarship Award of the International Association for the Fantastic
in the Arts.
Broderick has published 38 books and is editor of the forthcoming
Year
Million: Science at the Far Edge of Knowledge, Atlas &
Co., 2008.
