Ben Goertzel

CEO and Chief Scientist of AI firm Novamente LLC and bioinformatics firm Biomind LLC, Dr. Goertzel is an interdisciplinary scientist who has worked in a variety of areas including AI, cognitive science, mathematics, biology, systems theory, philosophy, futurology and sociology.  He has authored 8 books, edited 3, and published 70+ research papers.  In the late 1990s he was CTO of the 130+ employee AI company, Webmind Inc.   He received his PhD in mathematics from Temple University, and has held several university positions in mathematics, computer science, and psychology, in the US, New Zealand and Australia.  His hobbies include experimental fiction and music.  He lives in Rockville, Maryland with his wife Izabela and three children Zarathustra, Zebulon and Scheherazade.
