We may well be entering the Arthur C. Clarke age of a science so advanced it seems like magic. It almost seems a shame its most advanced products will be marketed to Apple Fanboiz ;')

Colloids play many diverse roles in our civilization. If the described patches prove robust, and if the production process can be scaled up, the potential of this technology is tremendous.

It is increasingly clear that we are beginning to acquire capabilities which, even a decade ago, might have been assumed to belong to a civilization significantly more advanced than our own. If we continue to move our technology forward at the current pace, we may yet find ways to slow or even stop massive ecological damage and resource depletion.
