Communication through wormholes, sending data through them, seems like such an interesting idea, and maybe more viable than we realize. What if we could send nano structures through a wormhole that could self-replicate on the other side, explore, and send us data back? The speed of light is a barrier we must overcome and I think wormholes could be a way.

I believe calculating Pi to that depth would not be possible for today's computer. Or perhaps we can start a cloud-based Great Internet Pi Message Search, in similar way to how the Great Internet Mersenne Prime Search (GIMPS) operates.

I interpretation on the non-presence of any ET civilization?
There are simply *no* ET civilization. We, people of Earth, are the lucky first (in this galaxy, if not the whole visible universe).
It is similar to how (roughly) 500 years ago, the Europeans explored the world and found every other civilization to be technologically not as developed as them. Given another few hundreds of years, the Chinese, the Middle Easterners, the Indians, and perhaps the Mayans may grow technologically to the European level, but why wait (for colonization)?
Don't let the Cosmic Silence stop us from exploring and colonizing the Universe, let us just do it.

vint cerf was operating prior to a general awareness or access to quantum entanglement testing methodologies which are emerging in recent news.

storing and forwarding bits that are quantum entangled ions would not be constrained to the limitations of distance on computational throughput.

removing some limitations of distance implies some higher potential entropy and we will probably invent high entropy solutions as a prolonging of moore's law, and a constant growing network of information unbound by light speed travel between nodes as we increase galactic coverage and beyond.

suitably fat pipe to keep the neocortex occupied and a suitable delivery of entangled ions to integrated devices (e.g. the matrix) could really change our view of space travel to remove the passage of time from the list of health hazards.

I long to see the signature of the creator - the cosmological constant may well be one. I rather like what Carl Sagan proposed in his novel "Contact": an alien intelligence indicated to us we'd find the answer in PI - that if we calculated PI out far enough we would encounter a sequence of ones and zeros; when the sequences were laid, row by row, on top of each other the ones would form a perfect circle. What more perfect signature could there be than that?

Staying in the simple world....I helped a class with challenged students. The lesson had to do with Latitudes/Longitudes. Being realistic, we know that teenagers see this as something as ho-hum...my GPS and phone does that. I explained that in the near future, someone is going to want to purchase land on Mars....and a whole new batch of Longitudes/Latitudes will be coming...those that are ahead of the game are going to know the better pieces of property.

Needless to say, I got a reaction.
