This information is very usefull and important for as I had been undergone retinal surgery in the year 1993 in UK performed by Professor David Mcleod. I would like to ask some who has enough knowledge regarding the retinal repair Is there any chance for me to correct my vision with the latest methodology.

Another neglected post, sigh.
BTW, I notice there is a KAI forum. I wonder how many commentators are also forum members? (I am not one)

The real fun will start with nanotech. Through metamaterials we will greatly expand the range and sensitivity of the senses.

If this tech become mature enough, can we(those who cyborgized with this) see into previously unaccessible parts of the EM spectrum?

I also think the abilities to see infrared vision, Fourier Transform and polar-to-cartesian/cartesian-to-polar are great.

I have read some good SF about radically augment your sensory organs, and am thrilled to see this. Modifying the optic lobes of the brain should do benefit, as well.
