The wonders of ant colony architecture. (the actual 'body shape' of the ant hive organism)

Your link mentions that the fungus-cultivating ants spread their fungus to other colonies to "get along" but... that might be somewhat of a misconception.

It's actually quite possible that the fungus controls the ants and we just don't recognize the nature of the relationship yet because we, as humans, have difficulty imagining that fungus is intelligent.

But... we may have found a reason to submit to the fungal overlords.

...they might clean up Fukushima for us, among other things.

...and as we've already witnessed from the Mir incident, fungus already travels through space before we even do...

...and might even be already colonizing other planets and asteroids and so on.

clearly it doesn't NEED us... but maybe we can be convenient to it? We can hope.

mmmm... pizza
Great idea, use them for food on space voyages, until they evolve to eat your damn ship that is.
we have a great deal in common with ants
many of our problems are the same and many of the solutions we deploy are the same
Both species , human and ants build large social colonies in which there is a high degree of active and passive co operation between individuals

ants where doing their thang long before we where around, convergent evolution means we share many features in common
hence the phrase " study the ant, consider her ways and be wise "
Both species , human and ants build large social colonies [...]
Did I understand you correctly, asimov1? Ants are a species (singular)? A species which builds social colonies?
Regards,
asimov1, Don't rise to the bait, just drop some cool facts that show how humans and ants have similarities, provide links to some irrefutable science stuff, maybe a few movies or images, and then pick an 'enemy' for your audience that can be compared to the enemy of ants, and show how ants and humans overcome adversity in the same way. If you follow Redakteur's lead, you'll end up shaming yourself and frothing at the mouth, which is what he wants. Disarm his contentious strategy by going your own way instead of following him into the trap he's prepared, as if he's an ant-lion. ;)
