Future Cities | More than half of humanity now lives in cities, and every month there are 5 million new city dwellers. A number of powerful forces are shaping this new phase of urbanization — escalating population growth, the rise of China and India, new connected technologies and pressures on both our resources and the environment as a whole.

  • Which urban communities will be able to make the transition into connected, commercially viable, sustainable and liveable societies?
  • Which will be able to attract business and human capital in a competitive global market?
  • How will the challenge of governing cities evolve?
  • And in a cold economic climate, how can plans be financed?

These are just some of the questions we will be exploring at the Future Cities. The event will bring together those leading, designing, building and managing the world’s most successful cities, featuring innovative approaches towards urban planning, transport, energy, architecture and sustainability.
