Bill Gates described new innovations in spam filtering, image browsing, and portable media to an audience of more than 1,000 MIT students on Feb. 26.

Gates showed prototypes of future Microsoft products, including a Portable Media Center (automatically downloads movies, videos, photos on a device that you can carry around) and a Smart Personal Objects Technology watch (displays weather, news, and stock information and receives/sends short text messages).

He predicted that new machine learning software will be able to know if code is altering memory that it is not supposed to, diagnose problems in a system, and create intelligent games.
