Multiple independently targetable reentry vehicles (MIRV) deployed from an intercontinental ballistic missile. The greatest risk posed by space warfare technology is related to the accidental launch of nuclear forces--should space systems be attacked or time-out without explanation. For example, if an early warning satellite belonging to a nuclear power were to suffer a fatal malfunction, attack, or an impact from space debris, that nuclear state would have only a matter of minutes to determine if it were under attack or not.
