Google Chromebook Pixel
February 22, 2013
Today we’re excited to announce our newest laptop — the Chromebook Pixel — which brings together the best in hardware, software and design to inspire the next generation of Chromebooks.
This Chromebook has the highest pixel density (239 pixels per inch) of any laptop screen on the market today. Packed with 4.3 million pixels, the display offers sharp text, vivid colors and extra-wide viewing angles. With a screen this rich and engaging, you want to reach out and touch it—so we added touch for a more immersive experience.
Touch makes it simple and intuitive to do things like organize tabs, swipe through apps and edit photos with the tip of your finger.

“High-resolution screen,” “as few screws as possible”…it looks like this was heavily influenced by Apple. I don’t know about combining a touchscreen with a laptop, though…seems like a fad to me.

Personally, I find that one of its most appealing features.

I agree. I wouldn’t buy it, though. If I’m going to spend money on a laptop it needs to have a fully functional operating system, not just for web browsing.

Right, I intend to use it for fast web browsing, videos, file sharing, etc.

Nice computer. The world would be a much better place if every computer user can become computing-literate.
