Developers who want to get their hands on Google’s Project Glass won’t have to wait much longer, Mashable reports.
Google announced plans Tuesday to hold a “Glass Foundry” in San Francisco and New York in the coming weeks: two full days of hacking that will allow developers to get an early look at Glass and start developing for the platform.
Glass Foundry will be held in San Francisco from Jan. 28 to 29 and in New York from Feb. 1 to 2. Both events require registration and are available only to a limited number of developers.
Developers who take part in the Glass Foundry events will be able to use units on-site.

Actually, studying the picture, I can foresee potential problems, as people try to focus on driving or other things and also, simultaneously, read from the glasses. Will this cause eyestrain? I would be seriously concerned. Also, won’t there be the tendancy to move the eyes separately – or at least try – meaning potentially a new kind of visual system emerging, for those people who aren’t in therapy, anyway. Imagine that you really screwed up your eye coordination in the struggle to watch two things at once. I had something similar happen to me in the ’60′s, experimenting with various consumables of the day. One day I went outside and realized that the clear blue sky was all pixelated. I was seeing the individual retinal pixels, and all the inherent noise, instead of automatically integrating them into a smooth, seamless, solid block of color. Scared me at the time. It never quite returned to what I remembered as normal, although now I have to pay attention to see the pixelization. Really annoying though.

Ok. I am SO lousy as an Aspy, at meeting deadlines or actually completing anything, here’s the killer APP for the glasses: Light control. Slave the light source to where you’re looking… got it? go for the pattent…

Good one. Kurzweil’s pushing hard already:) Who takes A.I. apps ground first will dictate the agenda for the next decade.
google’s brand is so pervasive and has so much good will it could sell anything and raise any amount it wants.

It would be more correct to say ‘Google Glass to hit SOME developer’s hands soon’, since only participants in the workshops would be able to use Glass, and they will not take them home. Also, one of the developer events is in February, so the ‘this month’ part of the headline is not correct.
Picky, picky, picky.

….I am so sorry….Mr… ah, it says here just “Jesus”, yes I am so sorry sir, you are not on our approved developer list. Yeah, no you can’t help us develop this product, sir, I hate to sound rude if you could just step here to the back of the line and we will get to your questions if we can, much later.
