As my dad graduated Summa Cum ladue from Harvard, I will first say, "Good on Harvard"

Yet it seems Harvard has some catching up to do as the Khan Academy has TEN MILLION students and some 12 school discticts now using their courses.

Khan Academy

With a library of over 3000 videos covering every thing from arithmetic to physics, finance, and history and hundreds of skills to practice.

Really great.
What MIT does today, Stanford does in 2 years and Harvard in 10.

If 1/10th of what MIT generated was taken up by industry we would have passed the Singularity in 1912.

But what Harvard does today the world copies tomorrow.

"Even here, modelling virtual reality can help without dissection of animals, sparing them much pain and suffering and saving in cost!"

Well, your opinion may or may not be related to your name.

But many people only become scientists in order to exercise authority about mighty creatures like frogs, dissecting them slowly and catagorizing their parts (a process called analyzing)- you see their orderly minds with all these categories and and this awful scepticism are clearly abnormal.

But I agree with you.

I feel this is an excellent idea to worldwide marketing of education, free, especially considering the increasing cost of education. I am sure the reach will be extended to cover other areas where laboratory work like in medicine, biology etc practice will be required. Even here, modelling virtual reality can help without dissection of animals, sparing them much pain and suffering and saving in cost! It is now kind of hard to figure out what standards will be applied for global recognition towards degrees and or diplomas. Human beings are ingenious, will find out.

"and they can speed up when"

I set it at 2x and watch 2+ simultaneously otherwise I get bored with those slow talkers... Aubrey de Grey seems to be one of the few humans I can stand without getting bored with their sluggishness...

I hope Singularity University joins the bandwagon quickly, otherwise I won't be able to enjoy it =( ...once my new Antichrist 2.0 start generating new knowledge... lol
