I am testing it after reading an updated review on this site: http://www.itcentralpoint.com/bitcasa-just-killed-the-hard-drive-jaw-dropping Its not bad, but the although the software still needs a lot of support and fixing its promising. I will stick around with it and see how it works if Support responds to my problems and solve them I will stay with them. Anyways I am still keeping Dropbox and Google Drive until I am completely sure the solution has everything I need, for example: Syncing which is still missing. But unlimited online storage, sounds really nice :)

I am currently testing it out; I’ve uploaded about 15gb this afternoon. I’m averaging about 1.2mb/sec here in Chicago. I have tons of photo work (as a photographer) I keep everything on a Raid/NAS, but the idea of having a cloud backup of multiple TB is really nice. We’ll see. Only time will tell. But 2-10gb elsewhere is not nearly enough to protect my pictures, let alone video and RAW images.

Except that they don’t have access to your files. Everything is encrypted on the client side. What’s actually being stored on the remote end is not possible for them to decrypt. Of course, there’s still the issue of trusting that what they say about their encryption is true.

Used the free beta version to upload a decades family photo backups without problems. Wouldn’t pay $10 a month though.

Of course there is NO chance whatsoever that the FBI will be knocking on your door after you’ve uploaded all those nymphets to the Cloud! Giving out all your private information to some company on the promise that they will never look at it and use it against you is just about as stupid as publishing it all on Facebook. As for me, I will keep my information on my own computer at home with a password to protect it. Thanks just the same.

My work data is less than a terabyte. I don’t need it to be available around the world.

My other data fits in 32 GB that I can easily carry around. My work computer serves me files anywhere via VPN.

When Microsoft and Apple get their act together and implement such sharing easily (why not yet is a mystery) it’s the end of these moneymakers.

For me, there’s no use case for these things. If there’s one for you please tell.

Having tested bitcasa, I’ve found the procedures poorly documented, with lots of problems. I would suggest holding off until they get it fully debugged and documented.

I’ve been in the Bitcasa beta for a while but I haven’t used it. I pay $5 a year for 25gb from Google. Other my 25gb with Google that and a solid Raid set up I can’t see any reason to spend $120 a year on Bitcasa or any other service. Maybe if I had a lot of videos or photos. Don’t be an e-hoarder! ;)
