`Unverified strange stories have a place with any agency funded to look up and print strange stories, and attempt to verify them. KurzweilAI is good for indicating technology directions of change that might have great influence on our teeterin dangerous future. Some thing odd is happening in Chinese construction. Some places are overbuilding rows of high rises, but that does not to have an impact on the future technology of the world as much as the multitude of Chinese names listed in the credit signatures for group announcements of significant genetic research from every university of the world. The possibly mad dictates of the aging rulers of China blends in with all the other certainly mad behavior of the dictators of small nations, and are not ultimately as important as the cell phones in the hands of their oppressed people walking their streets in self controlled protest. Political changes are not Ray Kurtzweilers genius. He runs this news latter of technical advances in accelleration and is keeping us in touch with as many as seems significant to rescue us from the results pf stupid misuse of these changes.The survival of our planet may be at stake..

It’s terrible to laugh at such a catastrophe, if it’s true. But the truth is: maybe there’s a bright side. I mean will all the super rich and their ffollowers disappear into their underground bunkers? Does that mean there will be more land topside for us peasants?

It makes you wish there were more 1%ers, Maybe they’d take their followers with them? For fun, frolic, and food.

I can imagine, a million years from now, archeologists from another solar system digging into one of these vast underground death vaults and deciding they had some religious significance. We didn’t bury one guy in a Pyramid, We buried a bunch of them.

Great article Amara. I love how they pulled together the ghost cities and the fallout and made it seem that there was a possibility that the 2 were a planned colloboration. Man, people, please read the full story and try and see what the real intent was here. One of the hallmarks of intelligence is to be able to combine different bits of information and model them into several possibilities. Please put in the effort before you spew your emotions onto the owlrd.

I would not put a great deal of credence into anything they say at this point. Who knows how much of their content comes from the Kremlin, or any organizational affiliations, containing who knows what kind of biased slant.
For example, RT is going to have Julian Assange on – that puts up one red flag right there.
I might watch/listen/read some of the RT content but only for situational awareness with a grain of salt just so that I am aware of what they might be spouting on any given day or topic.

It just goes back to what one would watch here in the U.S. One cannot just watch/read one or two sources to get all their information. That is a dead end, leaving you with a very narrow focus of a much broader range. One has to watch/read several outlets (MSNBC, FOX, CNN, BBC, Reuters, WSJ, etc) and think about the content, making your own educated thoughts.

Sorry for the long pseudo-diatribe but it is a pet peeve when people only follow one or two outlets for their news. And it’s even worse when people follow something like RT….

@Amara I’ve come to this a bit late and you appear to have modified the original article, but I think the issue of disinformation is important. Wacky conspiracy theories spreading via blogs can be extremely damaging. You only have to look at the anti-vaxer movement – who’ve been able to spread their ideas into mainstream media. Dis-Information in an information age couldn’t be more important.

Ahhh, what a story!!
I work in, ahhh, let’s say – a dark community (enough said). I found this little piece on disinformation absolutely brilliant. Folks put far too much in something that they do not know enough of or do not do any additional research on their own.
A disinformation piece like this generates exactly some of the responses that were generated here.
I knew the Chinese were very gullible with some of the Onion articles and it seems it is the same here in the U.S…..
Great stuff.

Shravan: Actually, I did state an opinion (not mine, but that of an expert): that the absurd blog story I quoted is disinformation. The point of my blog post was to point out that the “What Does It Mean” story is an example of disinformation. Apparently, I have failed to communicate that (even after I moved that statement up the first sentence). The deeper question is: what are the strategies and effects of these disinformation campaigns in geopolitics and other areas?

This is disappointing at best, and shows an utter lack of research before posting this up.

1) There is no elevated radiation in Tokyo. It’s far less than you’d find in countries that get a lot of sun, like Brazil, or cities at high elevations, like Denver.

2) There is enormous animosity between China and Japan. The Chinese government would never let that many Japanese people come into the mainland – they’d have an untold amount of civil unrest just from proposing the idea.

This is ignoring the part where there isn’t even 40 million people in Tokyo – there’s 30 million in the greater metropolitan area.

Please do a modicum of research before you post these kind of things here. As it is now, there is no way to save this article. Please delete it, as it is almost entirely misinformation.
