will the Korea of Hungtiton be covered in this consortium studies? It is also quite a dramatic genetic disease and hard on the family members and inheritants..

I did not say that quantum computing doesn't contribute. All i meant was (perhaps i dint word my comment right) when something like quantum computing which is still in its infantile stage is getting so much coverage, why not articles about stuff i mentioned get atleast as much. This is a reputed site and if this site features them, it will also do some good for those technologies in terms of coverage, in addition to boosting our knowledge and awareness about them.
And direct investing is never less beneficial than indirect investing.

@trakk
I don't think it's that simple. New computing and material advances can lead to breakthroughs in environment-cleaning technologies or new treatments for disease. Truly massive breakthroughs, once the technology is sufficiently advanced.

Quantum computing and nanotech are information technologies, and are thus predictably and exponentially increasing. Hence the breakthroughs and such are quite regular as well.

This is not yet as much the case with the techs you mentioned, but it soon will be. It might just be that investing in computing will do more (a lot more) for the environment in the long run than investing in the environment itself.

Not as much as articles on quantum computing which you see almost every week. And since they augment each other, they should be featured as much.

They are all interconnected and augment each other. Quite a bit of research is being conducted on all the topics you mention, and many articles about that research have appeared here.

I hope this site features more articles on infectious diseases which claim millions of lives every year.

And while i am at it, i would also like to say can there be more articles on advancements in stuff like recycling, water purification/desalination, advancements in safer chemistry etc??

i think research and advancements in these fields is far more urgent for the world than in say quantum computing.

In so many aspects of our efforts to realize a goal of humanity, there has been a shift from single self centered organizations, to communal approaches. It used to be an us against them approach, with a winner takes all outcome. We are learning that the whole is greater than any individual part. The mind set has shifted from competition to cooperation. AI will see that this is a better approach. In the long run, fighting, secrecy, sabotage, spying, espionage are counter productive. Cooperation, communication, commonality, unity, viewing the whole, and being inclusive, is always the stronger approach. All is one, one is all, e plurabus unum, the center of an infinite circle, is an infinite circle, one for all and all for one, all speak to the body of humanity. I would stop with the great financial gains or fame concept, and switch to the " we are all in this together" philosophy. That's where this is headed. That's where we are going. That's our future. Money will become so meaningless when we get to the Abundance that Peter Diamandis speaks of. The world of a few having everything, and the majority having almost nothing, truly is about to change! Robotics and AI will take every job from us. The only logical choice will be a system more in line with the body, where nutrients and energy are readily available to all, and that we all thrive!

Certainly there is big money in stopping these diseases. There will be a big enough carrot just in having the medicines to sell.
