Yes, I know that the 2011 &quot;Surface 2.0&quot; release has a faster processor, and a new version of the software, but in the three years since 1.0 launched, the price of 42&quot; screens has tumbled, and it&#039;s still on 1024x768, which is now somewhat lower than the kind of HD video (1080p) that rolls out in consumer formats for a few hundred $. (About £350 here in the UK, presumably $500-600ish in the US?)

At $2000, it could dominate the market - at $12,500, it&#039;s bizarrely expensive, and there are open-source interfaces that do similar (if less well refined) things....</description>
