Microsoft’s future vision: live, work, play
March 7, 2013
Take a glimpse inside the new Microsoft Envisioning Center, where visitors can experience conceptual prototypes that explore how services and devices will help us stay connected and transform the way we live, work and play. Focused on both productivity and consumer scenarios set 5 — 10 years out, the Envisioning Center is a place where we can engage partners and engineering teams in dialog to evolve our vision.

So basically they’re envisioning bigger screens, except with a tiring touch interface and some limited voice control. Kinda conflicts with Kurzweil’s prediction that computers will “disappear as distinct physical objects.” The computerized devices (or at least their displays) are pretty easy to identify in this video.

Good introductory video. Next version should have the fridge tell him the vegy he needs is not in the home but the fridge can order it and a robot vehicle delivers it, perhaps to a delivery port in the back of the fridge. Ready for dinner time. Also the IllumiRoom system will convert the room to a vision of grandma’s room while she is on video. It looked like some of the furniture was beds in this video. So is this a future where we live/work/play/sleep in a 20 x 20 room?

wow. that wasn’t exactly futuristic. microsoft is so good at helping those who are way behind feel like they are cutting edge… but why does this belong on kurzweil?

The patent-pending Single-Point-of-Access Cyber System will do all that Microsoft projects and much more by simply installing a new operating system, the Universal Operating System “uOS” in your current Mac or PC.
