Anyone want to begin a discussion about FM-2030, now cryonically indisposed?

I read about him at a few web sites and he has an interesting history...do you think he will really have a future?

How many people are being frozen these days in hopes of someday being brought back to life? Now I don't mean to be gross here, but what exactly do they do to these bodies to avoid freezer burn, and has anyone taken such a body out yet just to check and see that it doesn't look like meat that was forgotten about in the freezer or crystalized ice cream?

Who is responsible for keeping track of when cures come up for each of these frozen people (and what did FM die of last July?), and then how do they go about thawing the person as this hasn't been done before (other than when people have been very short term frozen, like in lake accidents or something)?

While Ray Kurzweil is well known for predicting a computer would beat a chess champion, I like how FM predicted the dress down atmosphere, and I also appreciate his not being into competitions that aim to point fingers at who is the best (Alfie Kohn is another author very into that principle - he wrote Punished By Rewards and No Contest).

However, did FM also expect people to start chosing their own first and last names and also changing them over and over again as the mood strikes? I would think the IRS, MVA (DMV, whatever), credit card companies, and a whole bunch of other groups wouldn't be wild about that idea, and it could cost a small fortune to transfer assets and identification to the new name each time.

But for fun, what would people here name themselves if they could pick a first and last (and even a middle name)?

Here are some I'm thinking of for myself or other people I know:

Out To Lunch
Give Me Chocolate
Dear Old Dad
Holdonto Your Stocks
Smooth Operator
Party Till Dawn
Good 'N Blunt
Red Hot Lover

Wait, you see what would happen if everyone got to pick their own name, don't you? We'd all be walking around professionally and in 3-D social situations with names like we were chatting online!!! :o Would we really want that?!

I suggest you read the cryonics FAQ page at http://www.cryonics.org/prod.html :-)
