from: the Monkees
genre: pop music
title: Pisces, Aquarius, Capricorn & Jones Ltd.
year: 1967

history note: The famous vintage Monkees album Pisces, Aquarius, Capricorn & Jones Ltd. from year 1969 features music created w. historic Moog electronic synthesisers.

The Monkees — w. band member George Michael Dolenz Jr. and electronic music pioneer Paul Beaver on Moog keyboard. The Moog is heard on 2 tracks: “Daily Nightly” and “Star Collector”.

It’s not the first rock music record to feature a Moog synthesizer, this Monkees album is the best example of an early Moog because so many people heard it. The Monkees were ultra popular at the time. The record is fun because the Monkees successfully used spacey sounds in a a pop song.
