The da Vinci system is used by one of our local hospitals. So far I haven't heard of any lawsuits.

My wife used this robot. She almost died. It "sparks" like the 4th of July. They sewed her up not knowing her bowel was burned. (didn't see it) They don't record the operations (So they can't be sued). Their is no standard for credentialing robotic surgeons! Practicing 2 days on a pig is about all the training this company provides! All about profits! Do not use this robot! Stray current can be seen in other videos on You Tube videos: DaVinci Total Laparoscopic Robotic Hysterectomy (Clear Lake Regional Medical Center)

You Tube Video Recording: by GYNDOC (9: 43)
Sparking / Arching / Stray Current / “Episodes” seen in camera view
Time reference in video: 1:47, 6:32, 7:24, 7:34, 7:52, 7:56, 8:01
(SEVEN – Total “episodes”)
I found three other videos as well that shows" Stray Current". Check them out.

Absolutely awe inspiring. Over time, the surgeries can be used to teach, analyze, remember all the movement required to complete a surgery on it's own, and or streamline all steps involved!
