<description>I have noticed that same divide. The first time I started college, back in the 1980s, I was told to choose between my love of Science and my love of the Arts and Music (and my love of history, and building things -airplanes mostly, and my love of languages, etc...).

It is true that the massive amounts of knowledge we have today presents us with a need for more specialization in order to have technology develop, but this should not come at the cost of cutting off people from their general love of knowledge and DOING.
