AGI Strong artificial intelligence often doesn’t figure in Ray’s analysis: weak AI is a MUCH safer path to Singularity Technology. I’m not sure of Ray’s position on a stand alone project for superinteligence?

It shoudn’t be built unless it can CERTAINTLY be completely safe.
In which case it shoud be bilt as even safer than inteligence amplification of weak ai’s which is what’s happening now.

“Turing test: …As soon as we pass it, we’ll probably reject it as a valid test.”
What we need is AI that shares and assists us with our desires. I’ve known some people who would fail the Turing Test if not trying really hard. For example: Dead pan “I think this conversation has come to its logical conclusion.” Man or machine?
