Russia Today | Experts say human-like robots could be the way of the future. A perfect partner who’s always happy and never complains, is apparently now a reality. But there’s a catch — he or she is likely be made of plastic. From simple dolls to sophisticated robots, they seem to be winning the hearts and minds of people who’ve given up on finding true love. Gayane Chichakyan has more from the world of the synthetic spouse.

Once again people fail to think exponentially. Given the nature of exponential growth in computing, this technology WILL BE possible within the next twenty years. A exponential curve always accelerates at the end.

If we´re talking about a robot like the ones that appear in “bicentenary man”, some could agree. But, now, or 15 years from here, I think it´s just perfect nonsense.

Hmmm…inflatable sex toys are nothing new. It seems there’s far more promise in virtual reality. More interesting than the robots is the fact that you have here a black reporter who’s a Russian with a British accent reporting on another guy who’s fallen in love with a white robot/mannequin. Perhaps someday none of that stuff will matter, but for now it’s interesting.
