Singularity U was founded in 2008, Diamandis said, with a mission of inspiring students, entrepreneurs and executives to create companies that have an impact on a billion people positively within 10 years.
The name Singularity U was taken from a term that Ray Kurzweil used to describe the point at which computer intelligence surpasses human intelligence.
The unaccredited university holds a 10-week graduate level summer course for 80 participants, and this summer is running a five-week pilot program for high school students. [...]
