Wonder how difficult it would be to mount a frikkin' laser on it's tablet-holding flat little head...could double as a pest control 'bot.

It could not be that Mexicans have lower IQ because of their poverty?
And let's not forget, generally it's not the "Crème de la Crème" which flees their country.

Just a question, you certainly don't have to answer, if you do not want: How high is your IQ?

He meant Europeans. Most non-western outsiders don't differentiate that much, to the annoyance of some friends I have (especially the French think themselves unique). If he wanted to be accurate, he should have said western and northern Europe.

I guess you assumed he meant Germany, since you forgot the question mark^^

Additionally, other countries "import" more people than we do, whereas our immigrants partly emmigrate back, or even -gasp-integrate.

For example we have turkish comedians using our humor and speaking our language perfectly while having retained their identity. There is also one turkish author writing the Germans favorite fiction-genre: crime novels. I myself prefer thrillers, but maybe I am too young to appreciate crime novel ;).

Anyway, one thing annoying me is a certain islamistic tendency nowadays, often aggraviated by preachers traveling through all of Europe.I, as atheist, don't want our politician to restrict freedom of speech for some people just because they threaten violence.

It would also be unfair to those who fled their countries specifically for this reason.

If technology advances fast enough, our old countries may become young again.

Otherwise I will emmigrate, since I don't see myself bow before religious fanatics.

It is better than importing poverty from the third world. Even though the US has cheaper labor, the externalities such as public services used do not come out favorably. Mexican immigrants use more services and cause more problems than they create economic benefit. The United States should only have guestworker status for low wage laborers. Besides, despite what many believe about human biodiversity, the average IQ of Mexican immigrants is about a half standard deviation below the average white IQ. The jobs of the future will require intelligence not simple rote behavior. The japanese are doing the right thing to preserve their economy and culture.

Thanks for the link, GatorALLin. That McAfee talk was important. We need to talk about something he said, that Siri will get together with Watson and their power will be 16 times greater in only six years.

Wasn't an article posted here last week about a robot that picks weeds? When robots can pick tomatoes and pull carrots and radishes, the immigrants will have no place to go. The Teabaggers will have nothing left to complain about.

We are counting on robots to assist us as opposed to counting on immigrants and Chinese or Japanese to come and help us. I don't think us helping the Japanese, or them helping us has been in our plans ever. Robotically speaking, we have a very symbiotic development relationship.
