TRANSCENDENT MAN will make its west coast festival debut on November 5th at 4:00 p.m. at the American Film Institute’s 2009 Film Festival at the Mann Chinese 6 Theatre in Hollywood.

The feature-length documentary film by director Barry Ptolemy chronicles the life and controversial ideas of Ray Kurzweil, exploring the social and philosophical implications of the profound changes ahead and the potential threats they pose to human civilization, as well as the opportunities.
