If I recall correctly from my experience in the earlier CAVE system at UCSD, the head tracking allows for you to use a joystick to zoom in/out of whatever image you are looking at, or make changes of data to be displayed.

i believe the next imax will be called virtualmax.
i cant wait till movie theatres start selling tickets to watch movies with similar technology. as a matter og fact i cant wait till when my home theatre has similar technology in it.

A truly, fundamentally enhancing VR hardware will not be a macroscopic (in this case, room-sized) machinery. It will be miniaturized cyborgization parts.
To greaterly percieve and interpret the reality, we need to radically rebuild our sense organs and brains, instead of creating more macroscopic displayers.

Nice post up above SAS. Yea I know they can be built now. I’ve actually considered building one for buisness presentations. A simple three by three or four. At this point in time it’s too costly and time consuming. I just print stuff out and lay it side by side. There have been better systems presented on this website. The style of it reminded me of my friend. I like to be provocative when I write so I went with that emotion. It won’t be long before we will have a fully immersive system if they keep dumping money into noninvasive brain imaging. The nanobots are on their way! ( just being provocative again.)

Definitely awesome, but it won’t be my definition of a fully immersive virtual reality until I can walk around without hitting any walls in front of or behind me (the system must create the illusion of infinite space around the user), and until haptic sensations seem real enough (as well as all other senses), I won’t be completely satisfied.

Still, it’s certainly a large step in the right direction; I can’t wait to see how virtual reality has progressed by the 2020s.

I want one! Mommy, mommy please can I have one! Oh it just brings out the inner child. A friend of mine and myself used to dream of a system like this when we were in high school. You know, all those connected television sets. It’s not that far away now!
