I had an idea that walking texters need a special app that uses the camera on your phone (attached to 90 degree mirror with fish eye lens) to show you live video as you walk. A bit like heads up display so you can read or type text, but also see where you are going on your screen (avoid the need to look up). Texters don't want to break their focus, so maybe you just need the visual of what is ahead of you on the same screen? There are lots of cool camera lenses or snap on gadgets that are already in use, so maybe a small modification of one could make this possible? I guess google glasses would allow for this already...so could be we just wait for google to do this in their product vs. retrofit our phones with some half as good attempt to fix this problem......?? I see everyone at the grocery store using text lists to not forget what to buy at the store on their phone and then texting or reading from a phone and crashing into things (or me) as they go.... so this is not as bad as getting hit by a car, but texting is a big distraction and problem will only get worse as more rely on their phone to multi task and read info from their phone as they do other things
