William McEwan

William McEwan is a virologist working on intracellular immunity to viruses. His research focuses on specific mechanisms in mammalian cells that actively overcome viral infection.

He graduated with a BSc in genetics from University College London in 2005 and did a master’s degree and PhD at the University of Glasgow, researching immunity to lentiviruses in cats and lions. He is currently a postdoctoral researcher at the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology, Cambridge, U.K., where he continues to probe the biology of antiviral immunity.
