I totally agree with martin0641, why cant the public see the movie somewhere?
It seems like a very exclusive movie that only some people involved closely with the SIAI are meant to see.
I would even go to a movietheater for it. Why isn't there a way for 'normal' people to watch it?

If you really what the public become aware of the implications of exponential development it can hardly be done easier than with a movie. Everybody watches movies and a lot of people like science fiction. When people see The Singularity Is Near they gonna realize its a forecast and not only fiction.
It puts the whole subject on a less abstract level for the mainstream which doesn't like to think about it to much scientifically.

It's 2010 - why are people releasing into theaters? Stream the movie from your site, or sub to Hulu or even iTunes. Charge with Paypal if need be. The future speak rings a little hollow to people like me, who live in places where the movie will never be released, cannot access it otherwise. I still have not seen Transcendent Man because - it's no where to be found. Netflix still says "saved" and the movie was released in 2009.

If the goal is to disseminate far and wide, to - as Wikipedia says -
share the combines knowledge of the planet with everyone for all to
see - then please use a distribution method that suits the year we are
in. If not, could you at least let me in on the solid reasoning
behind a limited theatrical release? I can't imagine it puts more
eyes on screen.

It's frustrating to feel sidelined by the very people whose work you are interested in.
