Japanese robot girl “HRP-C4,” created at Japan’s National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST), danced and sang a pop song on stage at the Digital Content Expo 2010. The android has come a long way since her debut in March 2009. Wikipedia says: “The robot is 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighs 95 pounds, including battery. Its shape and joints are based on the 1997–1998 Japanese body dimension database. It’s capable of recognizing ambient sounds, and can sing using the Vocaloid speech synthesis application.”
