Physics Meets Biology 2010

August 6, 2010

Physics Meets Biology 2010 will provide a broad view of the most recent and exciting research across a broad range of topics and scales in biologically inspired physics. Biologically inspired physics is a wide field, covering the behavior of systems from single molecular machines to organisms and ecosystems, so its scope will include physical probes and imaging, bionanotechnology, molecular machinery, cytoskeletal mechanics, signaling, control, neural systems, development, evolution and ecology, and more. There will be a special session devoted to teaching Biological Physics.

The conference is organized around an international program of invited speakers, and will include contributed talks and poster sessions. Its research coverage is designed to inform experts of the latest developments; it will also provide an introduction to biophysical research for junior researchers, including graduate students. Physics Meets Biology 2010 is the second in the series organized by the Biological Physics Group of the Institute of Physics.
