Third Annual IBM Research Cognitive Colloquium: Augmenting Human Intelligence

September 14, 2015

By any measure, 2015 has been a landmark year for the discussion around artificial intelligence and its potential impact on business and society. Much of this dialogue has been measured and insightful, advancing our collective understanding and providing a peek into the future; at other times, it has been misleading and alarmist, even potentially detrimental to progress.

Beyond the hype, we will explore meaningful applications of these emerging technologies at the Third Annual IBM Research Cognitive Colloquium: Augmenting Human Intelligence, and want you to be part of the conversation. I am pleased to invite you to join a world-class group of peers comprising the field’s foremost academics, researchers, influencers and business leaders at this milestone event on October 13, 2015, at the Mission Bay Conference Center in San Francisco, California.

Together, we will look at a fascinating and diverse set of issues related to the powerful cognitive technologies that are emerging to augment human capacity and understanding. We’ll be led by some of the world’s top scientific thinkers, who will share provocative insights into the deep scientific and technical work underway to create an entirely new model for how people and intelligent systems will work together to enhance human cognition and expertise.

Speakers include Professor Terrence Sejnowski, a pioneer in computational neuroscience; Professor Yoshua Bengio, an internationally recognized leader in machine learning; and Professor Jaime Carbonell, a renowned expert in machine translation and natural language processing.
