3-mile-long asteroid seen by SLOOH space camera

The irregularly-shaped space rock named 4179 Toutatis was captured by the SLOOH team on December 11th, 2012. Its closest approach to Earth was nearly 4.4 million miles away on December 12th.

The link takes you to the Space.com Christmas BLOW-OUT Extravaganza Sale and a very loud advertisement that is difficult to turn off. Eventually, though, you arrive at the very same video shown above … not much more insight there.

Not really sure what we are seeing here in this odd SLOOH space camera
video. Looks to me like it needs a bit of computer enhancement. I expected to see a big long rock floating along in space. This seems like raw data/work in progress/not quite ready for prime time …..
