Google has officially eaten the newspaper industry

Newspapers have continued to churn out the same content while watching their advertisers steadily flee for sites like Craigslist, Yahoo, the Huffington Post/AOL, Facebook, and Google, says writer Will Oremus in Slate Future Tense. .
The chart above, from Statista’s Felix Richter, plots Google’s digital advertising revenue against the print advertising revenue of all U.S. newspapers and magazines. The Guardian‘s Roy Greenslade estimates that Google’s total revenue also now exceeds that of the entire U.S. newspaper industry even when you count digital ads.

Those who say the VAST majority of the Lame Stream Mass Media is NOT far left biased have their heads so far up their butts it is a wonder they can breath.
The odds of ANY of you being as generally experienced as I am is about zero I am much more experienced than are most my age much less any younger “whipper shappers”. Next, the odds of any of you exceeding my combination of IQ and AQ scores are also about zero.
(FYI AQ is the tested ability as to how effectively one uses the IQ they have.)

Google is definitely a juggernaut. But hit graph is not apples and apples. I would prefer to see Google revenue in USA only to understand this better. Also this graph does not include online revenue from newspapers that I suspect would be massive.

I used to think that, when a magazine or newspaper folded, perhaps one that had been in publication for 100 years or more, it was a sad thing, but no longer. The entire mainstream media (and this includes television) has such a left-wing bias that it no longer reflects the values of the public anyway. The MSM now arrogantly believes that it should tell us how to think rather than simply reporting the news. Every mainstream magazine and newspaper could fold tomorrow, as far as I’m concerned. When I sold my old car, I did so through Craigslist and didn’t pay a nickel to the local liberal rag.

The ‘MSM’ is entirely Left-wing? No. You’re utterly insane and horribly biased. Unless you define mainstream media in some equally bizarre way, you are just wildly wrong.
Massively right-wing FOX news gets the best rating of all the cable ‘news’. MSNBC ‘turned’ left-wing because of FOX, but have right-wing Joe Scarborough on mornings. CNN always has a 50/50 mix of left and right-wing talking point hacks in any discussion. They also have right-wingers like Erin Burnett in primetime, and recently showed polls wrongly skewed to the right showing Romney was either ahead or tied and continued to say he ‘had momentum’ day after day despite the consensus of polls showing this to not only be false, but that Obama was actually gaining the momentum. Hell, essentially NO mainstream media said Obama was going to win other than the few places that based their claim on polling FACTS. This is not liberal-dominated media.
Then let’s not ignore that radio is MASSIVELY bent to the right. The left tired to fight the right on radio with ‘Air America’ and it tanked.
And how ’bout we throw in all the tax-free churches that illegally tell people how to vote (extreme right-wing bias there) that other nations don’t have in any form or volume like we do. And the fact that there are plenty of newspapers remaining that endorsed Romney and have a clear and well-known right-wing bias. Hell…just listing the OWNERS of most MSM and news sources will give you a list heavy with Republican backers.
If you wanted to be at all rational, you could have just noted that largely all ‘news media’ is now bent on profit derived from stirring up nonsense arguments to make harmful ‘reality tv’ entertainment rather than real news. But this is due largely to right-wing Capitalism running to it’s unrestrained, immoral extremes.
But no…you follow fat, old, white, racist, multi-millionaire, bastard Rush Limbaugh decrying ‘left-wing controlled media’. It’s beyond insane.
I still don’t get MSNBC on my basic Dishnetwork plan, but I get FOX ‘News’. And even as left-wing ‘CurrentTV’came on the air (which I also don’t get), insane Mormon, anti-historical zealot, Glen Beck’s idiotic ‘The Blaze’ network popped up to tell everyone to buy farm land, lots of guns and get out of the cities.
The successful left-wing Huffington Post could be mentioned online, but I’d point out that ‘The Drudge Report’ has been online long before it. And on and on, etc… the list isn’t even close to being ‘all left-wing;, much less dominated, much less, even slightly TILTED to the left at all.
You live in a complete delusion of what is ‘MSM’. Or you’re just a liar. Probably both.

Survey after survey have shown that college professors and most of the MSM including the major newsmagazines TIME and Newsweek (RIP) tilt farther to the left than the general public. Yes, talk radio is the exception but that hardly balances out the rest of the media. As far as the newspapers, I haven’t seen the harsh criticism of Obama that I saw during the Bush years. Whole new phrases were added to our vocabulary during the Reagan years to smear him and his policies (“Star Wars,” “the homeless” and “the decade of greed”). The Web is far more balanced,with Huffington Post on one side and Drudge on the other. “Power to the People,” I say.

Another problem here you need to understand it that to report FACTS favors the ‘left’ simply because the right uses far less of them -see: just about every major scientific argument since Darwin. Idiot Sen. Inhofe used Kurzwiel’s name in Congress as one of the so-called ‘many’ scientists that deny anthro-Climate Change.
You think newspapers were harsher on Bush than Obama?? Wildly wrong! Most media gave Bush and cabinet a free pass for nearly two full terms to claim Iraq was tied to 9/11 and almost zero backlash to finding no WMDs or that Colin Powell, the only honest one there, quit in disgust. No, they just say he voted for Obama because he’s black!
The media ignored being in two wars not paid for, massive debt, tax cuts to the wealthy. Once Obama was elected, the most extreme right, calling themselves the ‘Tea Party’ overtook the Republicans and got massive continual press decrying Obama for what was almost entirely Bush’s mess -that they NEVER cared about until a black Dem became Pres.!?
They gained enough attention to take over the House and warp the entire agenda in Washington. Palin, VP loser and idiot, quits being a Gov and continues to make ‘news’ all over so-called lefty MSM to this day for NO reason. The ‘birther issue’ has been in the media for 4 YEARS. I’ve never seen a report noting that the Reps. wanted to get rid of that clause so Ah’nuld could run for President!! Why don’t the leftist MSM note that?? Why don’t they note that Reps. were the ones who invented the ‘HAVE to buy Health Ins.’ clause that has become the most hated part of so-called ‘Obamacare’?? (on top of basically inventing the entire plan!?).
Newsweek, bought by The Daily Beast, is going out of business and John McCain’s fat, ignorant, fake-blonde daughter (NOT the adopted Indian one that remains entirely invisible because that family is demented) is somehow a major voice at The Daily Beast? She’s a child with no real knowledge, or experience, or journalistic training. But yeah… it’s mostly all left-wing out there. yeesh!!

In 1993 when I was still in highschool I did a presentation for a debate class about how the internet over the coming decade and beyond would become a dominant source of information as well as being a gigantic vehicle for trade. I was dubbed delusional by my opponent in that debate and the instructor thought it was fantasy as well.
