The company XP Vehicles plans to sell inflatable cars made with “airbags”–the same polymer materials used to cushion NASA’s rovers when they landed on Mars.

Different models of the car will be made of various polymers, carbon fiber, and other strong, ultra-light-weight materials. They claim its low weight will allow it to have a range of 300 to 2,500 miles per charge, depending on what battery technology is in the car.
