Ray Kurzweil received the Arthur C. Clarke Lifetime Achievement Award on April 20 at the Cosmos Club in Washington, DC. for lifetime achievement as an inventor and futurist in computer-based technologies.

The award recognizes an individual, a group or an entity that exemplifies the values and accomplishments of Sir Arthur’s life, and honors substantial and enduring contributions that relate the sciences and arts in meeting the challenges of contemporary life and the needs of tomorrow. Past recipients include broadcaster Walter Cronkite and science-fiction author Ben Bova.
