SeeReal has demonstrated a prototype of a new holographic display.

It uses a 20 inch display that displays a real high-resolution 3D image apparently in front the screen. To overcome the need for the enormous data required to display high resolution 3D images, it creates a 30×30 pixel array for each of the 3D scene points and uses an eye tracker to know where your eyes are located, to send information only to these positions.
