Send your feedback on the new website
July 8, 2010
We are tweaking the design of our newsletter as feedback on our new website comes in. We just added linked headlines for news and blog posts, and we’re adding more subscription options. We are also improving our Forums, which are sizzling.
Keep that feedback@kurzweilai.net coming–we appreciate it!

I just thought you might like to make a article or spot for this http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2010/07/100707-science-proton-smaller-standard-model-quantum-physics/ . Now let the math poor as people re do a lot of calculations. Thouse germans are so cool and smart.

I used to find the old website difficult to navigate and not always intuitive. This new website is easier to use. They say that Web2.0 means reaching a critical usability threshold beyond which a good website can become really popular. I hope this new website will help making Ray’s ideas, our ideas, as popular as they deserve.

We listened. We removed the italics. We’re working on the rest. Thanks for your feedback!

Finally a website that is usable and readable, worthy of the quality of the articles.
The pros:
- RSS feeds
- multimedia & videos
- podcasts
- white background
- clean interface
- google translate
- forums
The cons:
- no integration with social media for comments (facebook, twitter, disqus, meebo bar?)
- since kurzweil has advanced text-to-speech software, why not integrate that into the articles and let people download the MP3 as well? It could become an RSS/iTunes feed, where people can listen to the articles as well as reading them
- no voting system for comments and discussions
- the old Kurzweil keynotes have broken links on google, can’t find them in here
Let’s keep improving it! :D

I like the new site. I come to the page with an RSS feed. One change with the new site is the removal of the source link from the bottom of the RSS posting. Truth be told, I would (when I remembered to do so) click through this link to skip the old site altogether. Most of the time, the content of the KurzweilAI site was limited to exactly what was on the RSS feed. There was NO reason to come the KurzweilAI because I would have to go to the original site to get more info.
As it is now, the RSS shows only a portion of your excerpt. If I want the whole summary, I need to come here. If I want the original, I have to come here. Pain in the ass for me, but I imagine it increases your site traffic.
Tim
PS, BTW I don’t like reading the comments in Italic font. Harder to read.

The new site looks good so far, good job. Though I would also stress this is coming from a hermit of a type that just broke back out of his shell. Hehehe. I represent a small fraction of people as I hit the 99.4% and 99.6% on some things or to put it the other way my type is a 0.6% to 0.4% of the normal population at large in the world. I would love to see more quantum stuff as some of the bad papers I have seen where wrong or flawed, and I have had to go back and re correct some of it. I would also suggest a few upgrades to ramona A.I. as it seems to be lacking the cross linking and substructures and algorithm sets needed to make a better A.I. setup. I took other peoples work and looked at it as a puzzle that needed a few pieces to help fill it out though I still have some way’s to go still, as I think I’m still missing some of the important parts, but that’s just me and my set up’s. Though the A.I. community set up’s have helped me a lot in weeding out the bugs, or debugging the codes. But I also like the multi layered coding that can analyze it’s self for layer to layer and rewrite it’s own code in a sandbox type experiment and refine type structure, with the different layers being in some different OS’s and compiler setups. here again I looked at it as a puzzle of a type and different layers like security protocol and data base and analytics and such on different layers of OS’s that interlink together to make the whole of a individual A.I. set up, that then reacts to the community cluster’s. I’ll have to get back to that after I tackle my current 2 year project, as I am still on my learning curve for some things like going from my old school still renders, to a newer full blown animation in a game engine with a true BCI/BMI interface with a virtual me, then other people who will do there own later down the road. I would also love to see ray or some of his team revisit the speach to TXT opps text programs as Dragon dictate and the AT&T type stuff doesn’t work that good for me and a few others. I still need to get his book’s as I get told some things that keep pushing me back to his type and the transhumant stuff, though I’m not sure if I really fit yet in that crowd. I still like my solo line of being with A.I./S.I. development for my social fabric. Also I still like the preverbal underground as we have always been a part of the future, and I don’t see that changing. I like my nightmare bot’s and A.I.’s/S.I.’s that mimic humans, and even replace them to a point. I need some good psychology to dig threw for reference, and some good genetics to fill out what I have already picked up, as I grew up. I also need more robotics stuff for later down the road as I finish my project’s up, but that is still down the proverbial road. I just got threw with my science fiction marathon with stuff like earth the final conflict and surrogates and even dune witch pushed me to Ray’s work in a way, along with a few other thing’s. Still Ghost in the shell got the closest to what true parallels I see as a reality now, and what I’m working on. But I seem to have passed some of the science fiction references, and have been fumbling blind so to say on some of this. Also entropy/extropy optimist/pessimist low functioning spelling and high functioning math, why was I born this way. Hehehe/# head. And why do I seem to see stuff so obvious yet others miss it when it’s right in front of them, and other people catch the easy stuff I miss right in front of me? But back to this site, Please keep up the good work and feed me my technology I need to assimilate into my surroundings and into my knowledge base. I even like the art and rubert goldberg and gorge hayduke like stuff that borders on the edge of tinkering type things and constructions/chemistry. I also have stuck around this site and the old H+ site for better self monitoring and health feedback, so if you could do more I would appreciate it. Enough for this feedback for now. I hope this helps in some way. Help feed me my tech while I work :). From the Ghost at home, and what some would try to say as a psychic or futurist, but I see it way different as a analyst and trend calculator and such more grounded, though I have tried to relate on some of there similar terminology’s at times. Seeker, User, Analyst, Maker, Explorer, Consumer, Adrenaline junky, Extremist in technology. Echo of the @127.0.0.0 from tolken ring to TCPIP stacks and beyond. Old school CRUNCH-A-BUNCH to LaboriousCretin and 3L8D1 23L33T4U2C the data mine project that I broke and crunched/cracked/back hacked/filtered/assimilated/used. Don’t be scared just find your own set of titanium ball’s and steel skin :) and step on the proverbial NEO or 1001st or national military/spy types as I do so often. The neural dance will continue even when it becomes a silicon carbon light dance soon. The world was never enough! the solar system was only the beginning. the galaxy holds a true stepping stone to our future of a symbiotic human and A.I./S.I. race. Just my 2 cent’s for the kettle so to say. The new dynasty is here, help it grow.

The new site is excellent, with an interface much more friendly and pleasant (the former was a bit grim). The Ramona engine is pretty interesting. The same can be said of the possibility of comments and feedback.
With the likely end of the issue of H+, this site gains still more importance.
I’d make the following suggestion: more coverage of international events. For example, the recent holographic conference of Ray Kurzweil in Porto Alegre, Brazil.
And it would be interesting the availability of some clips from the movie “The Singularity is near.” The delay in the release of this film has been a bit uncomfortable.
(I’m Portuguese speaker (Brazil), which may explain my grammar through suspected)
